Default New BFG Question

Does anyone know if you can run the new 305/65 BFGoodrich A/T on the stock 2004 STX 17-inch rim? Also, has anyone tried out the new tires yet?

You can run a 33" tall tire and it can also be 12.5"s wide, so whatever 305/65 equals out to be in inches will be you determinent.

At the moment, I'm running pro-comp A/T 33/12.5R17. I've spoken to different dealers of the BFG, and its half and half. Some say yes, others say no. One dealer tried talking me into a set of 315/70, but I wouldnt have and clearance in my fender-wells. But I needed to know before I spent $1000+ for a set to only find out hey wouldnt work.

Are you talking about the Alterrain T/A KO?

If you are, it will fit.

Hey, I talked to a BFGoodrich rep in Nashville earlier, and he told me that with the new BFG All-terrain in the 305-65 range, that the rim would have to be no less than 8.5 inches wide. I'm running a 7.5, and they thought it would fit, but with it being just released, their not to sure it would work. He went on to mention that the 315/70, the same size thats on the H2 would work, but couldnt confirm on the 305/65.

Man, I'm not sure. My guess is that they didnt want a liabilty on there hands. But with the customer wanting a specific tire like that, I'm not for sure. I'm going to keep looking into it, and I'll have a definate answer.

The stock tires on my '04 STX were 255/65/17. Unless you have a lift kit and spacers to get more clearance, I don't think 305's will work.

If you find out they will work, be sure to let us know.
