Default mystery problem

I've had my 08 FX4 for a little over a year and started to get a tapping in the steering wheel. First thing I thought were warped rotors so I changed those along with the pads and it solved my first problem. A new problem arose the other day when I was driving down the freeway and I've never had this problem before. So I was driving, around 70ish and all of a sudden the truck started to shake. Narrowed it down to it only did it when I was on the gas so I thought U-joint went out, but then I noticed it did it real subtle at idle at the stop light. Brought the truck home, parked it, took a look around and decided to take it around the block and pin point it a little more and it was gone. It hasn't done that since but wanted to see what you guys thought. I also noticed tonight that the driver side sits about an inch lower than the passenger side (front and back) and its sitting on even ground. Related issues? Any input would be awesome and thanks in advance.

Nick

If you have a full tank of fuel your truck will lean more to the drivers side. As far as your shaking it could have neen a number of things. Did you throw any cels? Have you cleaned your tb and maf?

yah I guess the lean does make sense since the tank is along the drivers side and I have over 3/4 in it. and no I didn't clean the TB or MAF. wouldn't think that would make the truck shake that bad. but I can give it a whirl tomm morning.

Oh dirty maf sensor or throttle body can make the truck shake but it would be more at idle. It sounds like you have another issue maybe ball joints. You need to make it happen again to really try and pinpoint it, it could be a bunch of things.

I would prefer not to make it happen again. Haha. The IAC went bad on my mustang the day before too. Bad weekend!

I was told it could be a spark plug/mis-fire problem and to replace those as well. but also have read that Ford put in 2-pc spark plugs at the factory and some have a problem with breaking and falling into the block? anyone had a problem like this?

Oh yeah. If you have the 5.4 there is a whole sticky committed to this issue. Should be at the top of the page in the forums. It could be a spark plug issue. The spark plugs will not throw a CEL but the COPs will.
