Conclusion #1: If you want good MPG, go buy a Smartcar or Mini Cooper.

Conclusion #2: These green cars kinda suck when you hook up your boat trailer and try to load your quad in the back seat.

Don't get me wrong, the ScanGauge is an amazing tool. I love mine and wouldn't go without it. Being able to read CEL codes on the fly? It also has the ability to adjust (via a percentage I think) the fuel. I was able to tweak it when it was in my MS6 to be more accurate. Having access to those sensors right off the ECU was great. Most speedos are off by ~2mph (confirmed with my TomTom GPS as well).

So is that another recommendation with the trust, but verify warning?

Oh definitely. It is an amazing tool. If you can get it dialed in right it is nice to monitor MPG. Even if the exact number isn't correct, the trends are. You can see what type of affect your habits and driving conditions have on that numbers knowing that it is a scale factor that it is off by. The SG might show a 3 mpg improvement, might only be 2.3, or even 2. Still can use it to clear codes and monitor temperatures etc.

I wouldn't care about gas mileage if gas were reasonable in price. We are getting skull ****ed by OPEC. We have saved their hides on many occassions and they are ****ing us over. I have a problem with "speculation" and the entire operations of BIG OIL. I feel a little better now.

I really don't want to get into that discussion... maybe tomorrow. I just don't feel like spelling it all out right now... lol

The whole "big oil" thing annoys me.
