Did any of you guys clean them before you replaced them? They tend to arch out at the connection creating a burn spot that needs cleaned.

Have you guys tried this? When mine stopped working I just cleaned the contacts and it was good as new. Went ahead and cleaned all of mine after that.

Sometimes its actually broken wires that run into the door. There's a thread about it. I can't find it right now, but that's what it was with mine. They usually break right inside the rubber that runs between the truck and the door. Might think about that.

Mine wasn't working, went to autozone, got
Master window switch part number SW6666, took 1 minute to install, part has a lifetime warranty so when it goes down again I'll just get a new one free. 2006 f-150 XLT Supercab

How much is the part? I need it for both front windows. I have to push up about five times for the driver side to work. I have noticed if I start rolling the passenger window up from the driver control first, the driver window will go up together easier. For some reason.

I wish I bought my first one at AutoZone, maybe I wouldn't have had to pay for 4 more. Btw I looked in my tool box, I've put in 4 not 3, (original post) so actually it's probably 5 because the dealer did one. That's bs.

I've cleaned them but have only found it to be a short temporary fix. When it's been one of the pass windows, I'm not so concerned, as I can always use the window switch in that door. When it impacts the driver window is when I'm more concerned, as I don't have any other option to get that window up if/when it decides to crap out on me.

I'm to that point now. I figured heck, it's a big enough problem that Ford would eventually address the issue with a redesigned part, similar to say the spark plugs. But guess not, as all have been the same part number. Interesting part is, when I've purchased these switches in the past, they were roughly $75-$79 at my dealer. Called around before I bought this time, and all dealers in the area were now charging between $90 and $110 for the part. So evidently someone knows this is a common issue and is now making money hand over fist by charging more for it.

So the next time this part takes a crap, I'll look into this autozone or some other aftermarket version hoping for better results.

swapped the passenger ones out for the working ones from my dads 04. He was getting rid of it for $4000 so I figured I might as well steal them. I replaced the driver side on mine last year with a junkyard one that didn't work well at all. I then bought a new one (FoMoCo) on ebay for around $70 I think and now it is starting to crap out. Now all of mine are starting to call it quits again.

Last time I checked on Ebay, the driver side and passenger ones were both $70... Seems kinda stupid that they would be the same price
