I would hit your engine builder with that question,
All the GM motors that came back from our rebuilder had the 5/w30 crossed off and 10/w30 written on the oil cap.

I would like to see some number of how many oil pumps in these engines have ever failed for ANY reason. I think you're misinformed.

I did and have many times. They all lead back to other problems (blown tensioner seals, broken chain guides, improper oil, OCI, improper oil filter) that are not due to a failed oil pump. As a matter of fact I have a hard time finding any that were an actual oil pump failure. Every one leads back to a problem not caused by an oil pump failure. How about we flip the script here and have someone show me a time where the oil pump was actually the point of failure....?

Ok, thank you for posting that. Most people on here dispute this as do I, regardless I'm not going to get into a debate on the OPs thread so we don't get off topic. Also I should have clarified a better article would be one where the creator of the article is not selling their product. When bias is involved I do not trust an internet article. Everyone on the internet states their product is better and can do many things to make this appear true. Although I did have my oil pump swapped with a Melling 10340 when my timing was done, simply for the reason of replacing an oil pump with 130k on it (I also had the water pump replaced) I still think the OEM oil pump is fully capable of running the system without any problems or failures.
