Default Looking at a 2007

Found a 2007 F-150 loaded Lariat. $17,500 Salvage title it was rear ended. 82,000 miles. Has level kit billstein shocks and new wheels and tires. Looks really clean. I haven't drove it yet. What should I be worried about? is the price way off? I'm turning in my 2011 loaded fx4 as soon as I find a cheaper replacement. Thanks for any help!

WAY too high. It's on the high side before you throw in the salvaged title.

Here's a comp just posted. A couple years older, but within 10k miles for $12k: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/did-i-g...d-deal-248778/

Not an expert, but I would assume you should expect at least 25% off for the salvage title.

yeah way to high for a salvage title. Average price without it.

I paid 11k for my 06 fi150 with 98k miles. Super Crew 2wd xlt. I had the dealership do the plugs, all fluids, and another 650 off for tires. I just did this deal last May/June.

Normally that truck would be worth around the $20k mark. If you see one thats lower then 16k it probably isnt in the greatest shape. With salvage title vehicles they are generally priced at 35% less then book value so that truck is only worth 13k. Also with buying a salvage title you should worry if the frame had got messed up or what my another concern would be is who fixed it and how cheap did they fix it. I have seen a lot of salvage title cars that people pounded the dents the best they could and filled the rest with bondo instead of replacing sheet metal. Then turn around a quickly sell it to make profit. The problem I have seen if they don't get fixed right is people have ate up tires, go through cv joints, ball joints, etc. Just ask a lot of questions and find out who fixed it and if there any good.

I bought my '06 XLT in '09 for $14,700 with 48k and a clear title.

I cant believe some of the prices Im seeing for used trucks on here and at dealers. When I bought mine I was finding several '05's in the $15k or less range and they weren't stripper models and had reasonable mileage.
