Default Did I get a good deal?

Hi all,

NewB here. I recently purchased my First F-150, actually myfirst pickup truck ever. According to NADA and KBB, it looks like I got a great deal on this truck. I'm looking to get some opinions from the more well-versed Ford truck owners to re-affirm that I made the right choice.

2004 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Lariat
96000 miles
4x4, 5.4V8, Leather, moonroof, pretty much loaded.

The dealer provided paperwork showing that his in-house mechanic just fixed the infamous spark plug and cam phaser issues that I've read so much about. Body is in really nice shape, tires and brakes are newer, replaced front struts, no rust and drives extremely smooth with no noises, smells, or anything that would indicate that this truck isn't running tip-top.

The price: $12000. I've attached some pictures, hopefully you can view them.

Also, I have some plans for a 2" leveling kit and slightly beefier tires, lose the running boards, install an in-dash NAV/DVD head unit and possibly an intake and exhaust.

Any of your thoughts or suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks!

Sounds like a good deal to me! Great looking truck. You'll love the leveling kit once you get it and you can fit up to 35s with it too.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I just bought an 04 supercab STX 2wd for $10,500, however mine only had 58k miles but only 2wd.

Sounds good but at the end of the day, if it's the truck you want then it's a good deal.

Seems like a decent deal.

I just picked up an 04 FX4 Crew cab. 168k miles
Tires are low but pass inspection.
It needed a new serpentine belt and rear brakes.

I paid $6600

There is some rust starting at the corner of the cabin near the bed on both sides but rust isn't unusual where I live. Especially for a 10 year old vehicle. Underneath the truck it's pretty good.

Seems to be a decent price, Ive seen much higher mileage trucks going for more at dealers and they weren't crew cab Lariats.

Yup seems like a pretty good price, I got mine in October, same as yours but Black and Tan, has 190k km's (120k miles) also had been very well taken care of with papers to prove, had new tires, shocks/struts, new ball joints and new brakes. It was on the lot for $12500 at the local ford dealer but a friend of mine is a salesman there so he told me before they did anything to it and I was able to pick it up for $8k as is and he even threw in a tonneau cover off another used truck that was there just had to put in a front airbag sensor and DS rear O2 sensor, love the truck so far and have similar plans for it as you!
