Default the liars strike again

Ford is being sued because their vehicles MIGHT accelerate. Includes our trucks. Read about and draw your own conclusions about the leaches of the world.

+1, I never understood why no one ever thought of that... I guess since I used to drive a stick it's easier for me.

here is more information on the suit.
  • "A class action lawsuit was filed today (3-28-2013) in federal court against Ford Motor Company (F). The suit alleges that the electronic throttle control systems in many Ford models manufactured in 2002 through 2010 are vulnerable to unintended acceleration. The suit lists over 30 models including Ford's F-series pick-up trucks which are the best-selling vehicles in the United States. Specifically, Ford F-series pick-up trucks manufactured from 2004 through 2010. Other popular models including the Ford Taurus, Ford Mustang, Mercury Cougar, and Ford Explorer are part of the suit. The main issue is that Ford installed a brake override system on many Ford vehicles sold after 2010 in the North American market. This device stops the accelerator when the brake pedal is engaged even if the gas pedal is engaged as well. For instance, if the gas pedal is stuck at full-throttle and is pinned in place by a floor mat the driver can hit the brake to stop the car as well as override the accelerator effectively "taking his foot off of the gas". The suit claims that Ford was negligent for not installing these safety devises in many of its vehicles manufactured during the 2002 through 2010 period. Also, the suit claims that many vehicles manufactured by Ford during this period were "defective" because the vehicles lacked the critical brake override system. Class members of the lawsuit are seeking monetary damages as they feel they overpaid for a "defective" vehicle.". And nowhere do they tell you how people might join the law suit for their $5.67 payout.

The suit is because these vehicles MIGHT have uncontrolled acceleration. Think about what we could sue for, older tube TVs not having HD, older homes weren't insulated to today's standards. If you are a liar....errr lawyer, you could make a fortune. The class action suit is for over $1 Billion. Figure that is good for at least $850 Million for the liars.

...and what about the "sleepy driver monitoring system" that was never installed? Think of all the times you get tired and your truck doesn't notice, and hit you with an electric jolt to revive your alertness. Monumental negligence there.

What if I want to be on the gas and hit the brake a little to get my limited slip to hook up?

Wow...I remember when something similar happened when I owned a Toyota. I was confused why no one would think to just put it in manual. People will make a big deal about anything these days.

Sad part is, they will win.

Like that idiot who set cruise control in an RV and went in the back to make a cup of coffee, and then sued when it crashed because it wasn't "auto steering".
