Anyone have complaints about the Monroe quick-struts? Seem descent and all my local auto store has in stock, I don't want to wait for shipping, need to get done tomorrow!
I've heard people running them And absolutely love it. What are they going to run, if you don't mind me asking?

I found them online at www.partsgeek.com for $136. I hope my local store will price match them because I believe they wanted that much for the econo-matic strut assembly.

No ended up being $275 for both. I installed them today but can't lift the lower control arm back up without a spring compressor, wish I would have known that before hand. Now gotta wait til Monday so a tech I know can bring one over.

I used a jack under the lower control arm to lift it and a big pry bar to push the upper control arm down until the upper ball joint went into the chassis. With my other hand, I put the castle nut on. A jack and an a good size pry bar is all it took.

Good luck

Tried exactly what you said but jacking up the lower control arm didn't even move it a 1/4" before it lifted the whole truck off the jacks. Still need another inch at least just to get the bolt started, should be easy with a compressor, I hope.

My pry bar was pretty long to push the upper control arm down enough to get the castle nut started. After prying it in place, the control arm was really close to the coil spring as well.

Tom
it will actually touch the coil spring with a leveling set up at full droop...
