LED tail light source needed.
I need a good product, not an eBay special that will turn to crap in 8-10 months. Just curious as to uwhat people have, where you got them and how satisfied you are. I've been looking through lots of the pic threads but 90%+ are front or side shots so its hard to see what you have. I'm looking for a black background with LED lamps while still having some reflectors in it to stay legal in this state. I used the nightshade spray on my factory lamps last year and it looked great with replacing the bulbs with led lamps but Jonny Law disapproved. Any recommendations or direction would be great thanks. Pics speak louder than words too so feel free to show your s*** off haha.

You're bound to get a bunch of different opinions, but I'll give it to you straight on the ones I had and have. When I first decided to get some full LED taillights, I thought the blackout look was cool, and ordered these off eBay. While eBay has a reputation for cheap s***, I did my homework on these and found out they are of OEM quality and completely DOT approved. They have the reflectors on both sides and even have side-facing LED's. The LED's they use are Phillips brand, which surprised me.

Here they are installed, they look pretty bitchin' too. I had them for a few months, no issues with them at all, and got dozens of compliments on them.
Then I decided that having a red/tan Lariat, they didn't go very well with the truck in black, so I sold them and bought the same exact thing with a regular red lens. They are the same manufacturer, model, and price, about $225.

I also like the way the reverse light reflectors and lenses are set up, they really throw the light around well. I have had these red ones that are the same as the black ones I had first for over a year now, no issues what so ever and still continue to get compliments on them.
So, to answer your question, I think these are a definite choice for you, if you are looking for a clean black LED taillight that doesn't look tinted for the Law-man's sake. I can shoot you a link to the eBay seller that I bought mine from, too, if you want.

Thanks guys.
And yes I would appreciate any links. Mine is a black / grey two tone fx4 so the black backing is what I'm after but light discharge and reflectors need to be adequate to stay visible legal. I have led lamps in my factory lights to help see at night backing up having blacked out glass on the truck. I also really like the look of these as well. I liked my vht blacked housings just fine taping off the reverse light but like I said... it didn't go over well

I picked up a set of those tails posted three replies above. I've had them for only 3 months and LEDs are starting to burn out. If I'm not mistaken they're spyder tail lights.
I'm not too upset because it's the bottom leds that are burning out and they only come on at night but still disappointed that they're burning out after only 3 months.
I do agree with him on the reverse output though. I swapped my halogens out with super bright LEDs but even the halogen bulbs lit the ground up amazingly.

NamedHerOksana is right, they are Spyder brand. It's a shame that yours is already burning out, mine are still bright as they were the day I installed them. As for the OP, these are definitely good in terms of reflectors, they have both rear and side-facing red reflectors for DOT approved visibility.
Here's the link to the black ones. It's the eBay link from the same seller I bought mine from.
