Depends where you put it !! The blue LED bulb don't say on the package this is DOT approved for lic plate bulb...does it ?? That 197 bulb fits in a lot of places in your truck.

If it was true that you have to have DOT white lights I wouldn't see ppl everyday with blue led in the license plate

Dude...just telling you what the law is...how was your truck bought brand new..have you ever seen a brand new truck come with blue lic plate bulbs...you may have seen some cool white bulbs that look blue...but nothing pure blue...but, do what you want...

I consider this blue but it may say white on the packaging. that's what I'm lookin for. Not the picture I posted last night

Why are you guys rating these bulbs by K(Kalvin). leds light out put is measured by Lumens. If you want a blue LED that is not going to be purple looking you need a High Lumen LED. 90 lumen +

I got the right bulbs today, and I think they're perfect.
