Default Leaf spring problem

I head some clunking today and crawled under the truck and seen my middle leaf is dislodged. Should I use a rubber mallet to hit it in place or do I need to do something else? 07 xlt screw if that matters.

That looks like a cracked leaf to me.. It should run right across the u bolts in 1 piece.

You could ratchet strap it back into place to get you down the road.

So do I need just that one piece or do I need to replace all 3? If it's just the one piece would I just search for "center leaf spring"?

Yes, you can replace just one.The only thing is the other side might be a little weaker and sag a little more.

That's definately broke. I've had a broken one like that for about 6 months now. I'm using a large hose clamp to keep it in place until the weather gets a little better (maybe sometime soon?). Anyway, I think you should replace the whole pack and in pairs. Here is the best deal I've found so far on aftermarket springs: http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index....ed4bf039e848ea

Lucky it didn't go towards the tire!! Happens to our fleet trucks all the time and shreds the tire to bits

X2 on SD truck springs^^^^
Best deal I've seen as well.

Definitely replace in pairs, and replace the u bolts too.. The HD springs they offer are the best deal and offer slightly better payload capacity.. Search for their latest coupon codes if your gonna buy from them..

Take the weight off that wheel and let the pack droop.. Try beating beating the edge of the leaf with a hammer into the pack as far as you can get it, then finish it off with the ratchet strap.. A giant C clamp can also work once you get the leaf close enough to the pack to fit it..
