Keyless Entry???
Greetings, this is my first post. I just picked up an 04' FX4. I only got one key with the truck. I was wondering how can I tell if the truck originally came with a keyless remote. When I lock the truck up the little OEM light blinks on the dash. Does this also mean it has a factory alarm???
How much does a factory remote cost from the stealership???
I also do not know the driver side door code. Can the Ford dealership find out what it is?
BTW, I purchased the truck from a Subaru dealership..... Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks in advance....

I believe if it came with a keypad on the driver's door it also had keyless remotes at one time. Yes Ford can scan your computer for the code at a cost of $50 - $75 dollars.
But you can get it for free!
If you do have your owners manual you might check there first. You may get lucky and the previous owner(s) left the business card with the code in it. Also it is located behind the rear seat drivers side on the computer module. It is a 5 digit code.
Here is some rear seat removal instructions I found.

I have an 04 Lariat 4x4 and that is where I found the code for mine.
Oh and welcome to the show!!

I think it's just a theft deterrent. The thief doesn't know for sure if it has an alarm or not. So in theory he/she leaves your car alone.
Or it could be a part of the horn blowing/panic alarm system and it blinks to let you know its set.
The dome its in is also for your auto headlights light sensor.

Welcome to the site!! The dealserhsip can always reset your entry code for ya'. The last time I was at the dealership some dude needed his reset and they took his information and did it for him after they verified that it was his truck. You can always get a remote off of ebay and read your owner's manual and it will tell you how to program it in there.
