I have two "ford" keys and two remotes. I will assume my two are master keys. So I will purchase two more and program them, then place the master's away.

That's what I do. That way if I lose one I still have the two masters to program another clone. I would order 1 to start and make sure the 2 keys you have are both masters. I don't know of anyway to tell other than to try and program and see if they work.

That's why I asked if there was a way to know if a key is a master key. For all I know I may have a master key and a clone key. I'll order one like you suggested and see.

The keys I had programmed are SA stamped keys. I don't think there's a way to ident the master without just reprogramming them both from scratch. If you bought a another clone, you could have a local shop or dealership wipe all of the keys from the PATS and reprogram them, then label whichever they made the master key.
