Key pad on driver side handle
I had the keypad on my F350 and it gave me peace of mind should I lock my keys in the truck. Does anyone know if I can add it to my 05 f150? I was wondering if maybe the wiring harness was already in the door.......Anyone know for sure?
Hi there Dan"Gerous",
watch out when you are brushing the snow off your vehicle. Two years ago, I had the vehicle running and when I was getting the snow and ice off the car, I hit the 6/7 -8/9 keys on the outside of the door and the vehicle locked down on me.
Thankfully I kept that key card in my wallet. So I only had to punch in my code to unlock the door.
Otherwise, I would have had to gone to where The Mrs was working to get her key...
You can only imagine the thrashing I would have got over that... sigh...

Thanks guys. The card is in my Glove box with the stock code.
Buck, I didn't have the code for my 6.0 so I took it to my dealership and they read the code off the port under the dash. The factory code is permanent but they can set another to whatever you want as long as it's 5 digits. Once you have the stock code you can also set up a different one that's easy to remember. Directions are in the manual. I had the same code on my 6.0 as I do on my Lincoln LS.

You can also get a keypad that just attaches to the door for well under $100. It a Ford aftermarket part that programs very easily. You may have to reprogram your keyfobs after going through the steps like I did but that's not a big deal. Use your birthdate for the code. Easy to remember.
