Default Ipad in dash

Does anyone with the 04-08 have this setup? I see the 09+ guys have done it but I've not found a 04-08 with it done. I wanna use an ipad mini for my setup. If anyone has done this please post some pics and did you make it yourself or someone did for you? Thanks

There was someone on f150online that did this. I started looking into this, but then looking at the audio converter that was suggested, I said eff that.

Yah I've seen tons of guys that have it done with the 09+ trucks. I'm not even sure if its possible with the 04-08 dash. That's why I'm thinking a ipad mini may work best if it does at all.

iPad Mini

Fits like it was made for the 04-08 dash.

that is sweet, how did you mount it/ hook it up. Also I see you have the charger plugged into the power source, can you tap it directly into the trucks power supply?

yeah, but just a little more involved. just go to walmart and get one of those cigarette lighter extension cords that has the cig socket with the extension wiring coming from it. when you have your dash out to do the mod, just cut the plug with a couple inches of wire and toss the rest.

then splice it into the backside of the cigarette lighter wiring. Then you can plug your i-whatever cigarette adapter into it and just push it somewhere behind the dash. I usually wrap it all together with electrical tape so it doesnt come apart from whatever vibrations (potholes, etc) may cause it to come apart.

I've done this on several of my cars over the years back before GPS was integrated into stereos to keep clutter down. works just fine.

It's flush mounted to the plastic on the factory console. I had to do a bit of sanding to make it flush, but it was super easy, anyone can do it.

The power supply there is for my phone. It is not connected to the iPad.

The way I wired it is actually very easy. I used the iSimple gateway

https://www.isimplesolutions.com/iph...n-GateWay.aspx

It's connected into the existing factory radio. I love it. I retained the factory steering wheel controls, it charges itself, and can still listen to local stations if I want to.

I can do a full write up with pics and post it here this weekend for you all.
