Question Intake manifold recommendations

I have an 08 F150 with the 4.6L V-8. A few years ago I had to replace the intake because it was separated and leaking. I bought a typical one from e-bay, which has now failed. What is your recommendation for a replacement? Brand, Manufacture, etc?
thanks,
JS

you can’t get a motorcraft one anymore. Despite there being tons of different trade names used on the aftermarket, they appear to be the same actual product (if there are lots of pics, zoom in and look at stampings/markings on actual manifold)

? What failed in your current manifold ?

although I haven’t used an aftermarket intake yet, a couple years seems fast for the plastic (actual intake) to have failed. Actually it seems fast even for the gaskets to go. But uoh can buy new gaskets. Id probably buy a set of gaskets and the whole new intake, could save or return whichever you don’t use/need.

? Just curious, Do you recall if you torqued to specs and in sequence ?

Be aware of a reasonably common problem with the replacement intake manifold used on Ford F150, 4.6 engines 2004 - 2008 and maybe other model years. The after market manifolds have an unused extra hose nipple molded into the passengers side rear. To the best of my knowledge this to is to allow a generic design to be used on models that utilize the extra hose nipple to feed the heater core on those other vehicles.

My experience with this extra connection has been a real pain. It is capped with a rubber cap and hose clamp to keep it in place. In my case the problems were 1) cap ruptured once 2) cap blew off twice on the interstate and 3) it is currently leaking and tightening the hose clamp is not helping. If I ever have to replace my manifold again (it was replaced before I purchased truck four years ago) I am going to do as others have done on this forum and that will be to thread the interior of the nipple and install a pipe plug to prevent future issues especially the blowouts..

So, I got the new intake manifold installed and cranked her up and its running rough, I hear a hissing sound and smell a rotten egg smell, its like some vaccum hose is not connected or something. Im pretty sure I checked everything but im stumped. I'm gonna go over everything again. Also, got a check engine light, its reading p0300, multiple random misfires..

Not entirely sure the connection intake would have with exhaust, but that rotten egg smell is usually indictive of a clogged catalytic converter. I wonder if it's always been clogged up and that caused your first intake to go, then your replacement also went shortly after. Now you are technically on Intake #3? Again, I don't know if a bad catalytic converter could cause intake issues but possibly worth a look?
