Default installing HID headlights?

i installed my HID headlights from my kit and they flickered on when i turned my truck on but then after about a second they turned back off and i dont know what the problem is. My guess is that they dont have enough power to turn on but im not sure so if you can help it would be appreciated!
thanks mike

sounds like you have a ballast issue or maybe a bad ground

im fairly positive that if hid's flicker then they need a relay, do you have one?

Okay did you wire up a relay? A relay consists of running a wire to the battery and having to ground each light. If it did not come with a seperate harness to plug them into then it does not have a relay. Dont use the auto headlight setting until you get a relay installed. You can purchase one from www.retro-solutions.com for ~15bucks. Tell him squirtbottle09 sent you, lol. For now go out to your truck and check the fuses for what ever headlight went out. You most likely blew the fuse. It comes with a 10amp I think. Use the user manual to figure out which fuse it is. I cant remember off hand. Once you replace it leave your headlights off and turn them on manually, dont use auto mode because the voltage that auto uses is not enough to ignite the ballasts without a relay installed.

yeah well it doesnt connect straight to the battery like your talking about so i dont think it has a relay then but yeah i bet thats the problem ill definately check into tht because im confident the reason their not working is because they dont have enough power
