Yaa what's $30. I've heard rusting might be an issue on my chrome bumpers. The wires I heard might be too short to reach the front and might have to extend them, which shouldn't be too big of a hassle.

Some say to use a buffer or polisher to clean up the areas around the drill holes. This will help to protect your bumper from scratches or corrosion later. Also, make sure that you choose areas of the bumper that are relatively flat. The sensors will not work correctly if they are angled up or downdown or from side to side. The sensors mace straight ahead so that they can accurately detect things behind your vehicle.

What I plan on doing is when I purchase them one of my neighbors has an fx4 with reverse sensors so I'll go and get the stock measurements from his truck to see exactly where they sit on the bumper and do it that way. As for preventing the rust I'll research products that I can use to prevent that I live where they use a lot of road salt.

I don't have those, but I do have the stock ones and can comment on them. Honestly, sometimes they're more of a pain than helpful. If you have the tailgate down, have something hanging over the back, or are towing a trailer and backing up, the sensors will beep constantly. I wish there was a way to bypass them sometimes. However they do work nicely when parking, they've helped me out numerous times.

I have them in my truck and mine came with a button below the ac controls that has a big P and a cone and if I push it it will bypass the sensors

I'm glad you guys chimed in I completely forgot about the bypass button. My mom just bought some sensors for her edge from the dealership for $400 installed if the sensors from the dealership have that by pass button I'll consider getting them from there it would be worth it to me. Parking is a pita sometimes so they would come in very handy.
