Default Injectors

Question on the injectors: at 155k miles on my '04, I'm considering replacing all injectors as a preventive maintenance item. I see on Rockauto the '04s and '05s have different part numbers, with the '04 injectors being 3 times the price. I'm going to assume that the '05's injectors cannot be used in the '04 unless anyone can correct me; have guys used Bosch injectors without incident, or is this another situation of using Motorcraft and nothing else at $100 per injector?

I went through the same frustration searching / researching for "NEW" fuel injectors (I did NOT want re-man) when I did my timing job at 212k miles.

After much research, I settled on Standard Brand to the tune of $478.00 for the set , $65.00 each, (back in Feb 2016). Part # was SIFJ66 - if it hasn't changed.

I have been completely satisfied - in fact thrilled with them. 30,000 miles and 3 years later, it is quiet as a Mercedes Benz, fuel economy is average for these trucks, and fuel trims all bobble around zero, no misfires!!!

Other than this, I know little to nothing about injectors.

Thanks... I looked on Advance website, and with the 20% discount and another coupon, got it down as far as $320 for AUS rebuilt injectors, with Carquest remans being another $10/injector (reman). Rock has brand new Bosch's for $65 a piece. '05 injectors are half that... but aren't the '05s more prone to injector problems than the '04s? Slight consolation... I'll look into the ones you have.

I have 155k on my 08...are you having issues? Honestly, if not, just leave them alone?

Not having any issues, (at least none that I attribute to injectors) I just prefer to not have any. I tend to replace a lot of things before they become a problem, so that I don't have a problem. I travel 200 miles away once a week for work, and over 10 hours away a half dozen times a year, so failures aren't an option. $35/injector is easy swallow, $65 Bosch/$100 Motorcraft, not so much... I do run a bottle of Techron through it every couple of tanks.
