Default Improved towing?

Hey all. First time poster here. I have a 04 F150 4x4 with the 5.4 V8. It came with 3:73 gearing and the factory 7200# GVWR package as well as the factory trailer tow package. I'm not sure what is included in either package? I guess that would be my first question! My second question is how can I modify my truck to improve towing a 6000# camper in the hills? Should I start with a K/N filter, different exhaust, and a tuner? Any ideas on which tuner would be the most helpful? I'm really only interested in improved towing although improved MPG would be great also! Thanks in advance.

If I was towing a 6000lb camper in the hills,I would buy a diesel.
But,since you have an f150,get it all. Tuner, exhaust and cai. Maybe an extra transmission cooler too. And definetely a good electronic brake controller. Half of towing is stopping.

I'm with Motard, if your towing alot of weight, make sure you can stop. Maybe upgrade your brakes?

You can do the "Gotts mod" to your stock intake. Do an exhaust and get a good tuner like Gryphon from Powerhungryperformance. It's a rebadged EDGE.. It will give you the most improvement!

I'm sure the trailer of that size has brakes.

Thanks for everyones reply! after looking around some more, i think im going to go with the troyer efan kit, gryphon tuner, gotts intake mod and underdrive pulleys. any thoughts? My ford dealer told me that my truck came with heavier duty brakes because of the tow package. might just be a bunch of b/s but it seems to handle my trailer ok, plus it has electric brakes on it also.
