Default I need your help please.

Hey gals and guys,

So I was bleeding my brakes last night and sucessfully bled the driverside. Now I'm working on the passanger side and trying to loosen the screw, when all of a sudden, it SNAPS! Half of the screw is in my hand and the other half is still stuck in there. Luckily I did not loosen the screw, it just snapped off when I lightly turned on it. To reinsure myself, I pressed on my brake to make sure no brake fluid leaked out, it didn't.

So here are my options, I think:

1. Drill out the old screw, re-tap the hole, and replace it with a new screw, which will run between 10-15 bucks. Hardest part is probably drilling the sucker out.

2. Just replace the whole caliper, which will run around 65 bucks, which isn't bad, but I would rather spend the 10 bucks.

I just wanted to know if you guys had run into the same problem or have any insight on how I should tackle this situation.

Thanks!

I'd just drill it & use an EZ Out, then install a new one.

By "EZ OUT" do you mean like a screw extractor?

The bleeder screw already has a open slot in the middle of the screw, can I just stick in the screw extractor and twist it out. OR do I have to pre drill and then stick in the screw extractor? excuse my noobness....

Also, do I have to spray any WD-40 or anything like that to loosen it up??

Thanks

Drill to the size that is needed for the EZ OUT, there is usually a recommended size drill. Also, WD40 never hurts!
