I cannot get rid of this p0193 FRPS code
My truck is idling rough so my mechanic did a fuel pressure test and concluded that I needed a PRPS so I changed it out the next day. Well I made it 4 blocks and truck died. Turned but wouldn't start so I put the original FRPS back on and it cranked right up. Faulty Semsor ? Truck is still idling rough so what else could it be? And when under acceleration something is rattling. The muffler guy raised it and checked and said everything is solid so what else could it be ? I've read about a loose spark plug?
06 f150 w/113k miles. About 3-4 moths ago I had a misfire in which I changes all my plugs and coil packs, fuel filter and FPDM.after that everything was fine until this pas Saturday when I was pulling up to the boat show and my truck bogged down (like the alternator was having problems or something fuel related) so I had it scanned for codes and 3 codes came up. P0193 2xs with seperate explanations and a p0174. The next dat I changed my alternator because it was only 1 year new and then had it scammed again and only 1 code now (p0193) so I brought it to my mechanic and he pressure tested the fuel line and said it was the FRPS. I purchased a new one and replaced but not 7 blocks down the rd I turned it off and it would not crank(turn over but not crank) kind of fuel hungry. Today I got home and had the bright idea to swap the old FRPS with the new one. Well but cranked right up but it still has a rough idle and throwing the code (p0193) wth ?
Unless the fuel pump screen is clogged, I would think the pump would just fail completely with next to no pressure, not reduced pressure. I'd lean more to the FPDM, or a pinched line or something. I'm not a mechanic, I'm just a dude, so I could be completely wrong. I have heard of aftermarket FPDM's going bad in a short amount of time though.
