Default How to stop somthing from rusting?

Some paint has come off from the bed of my truck.(the inside of bed) what would i put to stop it from rusting

^^ what he said. use a little chemical "rust converter" first to ensure its dead.

Ok so its not a spray paint kind of deal its more of a paint that u have to do with a brush.

Theres a new solution for rust called POR15... the stuff works awesome... its a little bit expensive but you'll never see rust wherever you apply it.. You can get it at most NAPA stores.. I'm sure the guys on here have heard of it.

Ok and with the por15 is that all u have to put and ur good to go or what else would i have to do

If you are applying any pant over existing paint scuff it up a bit with 350-400 grit paper.
clean it and apply the paint. Por15 is amazing, and expensive.
any paint will help, for a box you can brush it or spray it, more importantly is the prep.

Larger areas (say 1inch by 1 inch or more) treat with a "self etching primer" bebore any paint at all.

Any rust should be sanded/ground down
