Stay within your means. Don't get carried away. I always save enough to get new wheels and tires when I get a new rig and then go from there. Overtime helps as well.

Just take it slow! Open a little side bank account at you regular bank and transfer a few dollars here and there each month for things you want to buy. If you can't afford to set any money aside then just set your goals/focus/energy on finding new profession you can get into eventually! When you're bringing home an extra few thousand dollars a month over all your expenses/savings goals it's easier to make non-essential purchases!

It mainly takes time and lots of saving if your not earning much. Always get the important things out of the way first like bills, gas etc. I got on the rigs when I was 18 and saved nearly all my money that I made for a number years. Now I work a cushy job for Purolator and my house and truck are all paid off (feels great btw) and all I have is utilities, gas and insurance along with a few other minor things, to pay for. Also being a loner might help abit haha!

will run you OVER
Save. Then buy when you can afford. I've been saving for my trucks suspension for a year. 3k for the front and another 800 for the rear.
Would you rather have a bunch of little things or a few big things? Do the math, ull find having a few big things is a lot better in the long run

For one I don't ever pay anywhere near blue book value for my vehicles, I usually buy them as wrecks and fix them. When I have a vehicle payment it's small and I pay it off fast, when you have no payment putting gas in it becomes easier obviously. I also drive very conservative, to save a bit in gas, it all adds up over time. So in a way I can have my cake and eat it too.
