HID question..
Hey guys I just picked up a 05 fx4 crew with a few mods 20" chrome rims 285 bf goodrich AT's, leer tonneau cover, flowmaster exhaust, and HID's.
Heres my question, the driver side headlight was disconnected from the ballast, after plugging it back in and trying the lights the ballast seemed dead, no hum(from my experience in the lighting industry this is normal). So I buy a replacement ballast and plug it in....nothing still no light and no hum/buzz.
Any ideas?

Not really. All PnP kits use the stock wiring harness for the headlights. There's not extra ground required unless you're running an auxiliary wiring harness so you don't have to go thru the stock wiring harness. Could it hurt to have an extra ground? No. Do you have to? No.
On a side note, check to make sure that the headlights are not on individual circuts. I know on my current car, the left and right have seperate fuses. Check to see if they're both in tact.

My Bi-xenon kit did have a ground for each ballast. I remember because it was a PITA to grind paint off somewhere on the drivers side that wasn’t visible when you opened the hood. But even if his only has one, id check that first. At least that’s where I start when trying to troubleshoot anything 12v electrical.

Like Lenn said, plug and play kits do not have Grounds on them, like my HID kit. If its a Bi-Xenon HID kit with HID hi/low then it will have the extra harness and will have grounds and a battery wire.
Easiest thing to do is to swap ballast from side to side. If the problem moves, you have another bad ballast, if the problem stays, you have a problem with the bulb/power.
