Default HELP please with tailgate bar

I just got my extreme recon 60" tailgate bar in. I want to just hook it up to my flat four Trailor connector instead of hardwiring it in because I don't know how to hard wire anything!!!!! But when I plugged it in to my Trailor connector I got nothing. No running light no blinker no nothing. I looked in my manual at the fuses and relays info and seen the #10 fuse is for Trailor tow back up lamps relay(pcb1),Trailor tow parklamp relay(R201). So I pulled this fuse/relay location and it was good. It says number ten so I looked it up on the diagram of the fuse box on the floor board passenger side and pulled it. I'm LOST so help me out!!! I'm not that good at this stuff. Is one of those relays(R201 or PCB1) bad??? How do I tell if a relay is bad??? PLEASE HELP

wireing them really isnt that hard. but you might have a problem with your tow wires, just had to replace them in my wrangler from front to back.

I like to use these:
http://www.efc-intl.com/encyclopedia...atherproof.htm
they seem to work the best rather than the ones that clamp over the wire.
all you have to do is find out which wire does what on the led bar and in the tow harnes. then just cut the harnes take one wire, strip back about 1/2 inch of the rubber and slide in in one of the three holes then clamp down on the colored part (not so hard that it cuts it) then do the same for the matching wire for the led bar and the actial tralier plug. I usually get some liquid eletrical tape to put on there just as an extra caution.

if you have any questions ill do my best to answer

If your fuses and relays are good it might be the tailgate bar that is faulty or your trailer connector could be messed up. Your trailer connector could be cut somewhere in middle of the truck, you could have corrosion in the connector (i.e. not getting a solid connection), or various other possibilities. Here is a link on how to test your trailer connector. http://www.ehow.com/how_7705546_test...ctor-plug.html

As said above hardwiring isn't that hard. That white wire that came with the connector is for your backup lights. It needs to be hardwired to your taillight. It's just cutting the wire, peeling back to the exposed wire, connecting all three wires together, and protecting them. You will know which wires connect to which based on how the plug lines up. Pretty easy. I do suggest googling hardwiring for the proper techniques (disconnecting battery, crimping, etc).

Hopefully this info helps. Good luck.
