HELP!!! Navigation Language Change Issue
Hey everyone,
I need some help...
I have the factory navigation system in my F150, and tonight my friend thought it would be funny if he changed the language to Spanish…
So he went ahead and changed it, and now no matter what I press or what I do, I can’t get it back to English; it is staying on a screen that is asking me to insert the Spanish disc to proceed (I don’t speak/read Spanish… but it is pretty clear that is what it is asking) – there is no ‘cancel’ or 'back' option, just 'open' and every time I open it and reinsert the English disc (because that is all i have) it just tells me, in Spanish, that it was the incorrect disc and its incomplete, etc.
The worst part is, nothing works now, no gps, no radio, nothing.. it just stays on the screen with the 'open' option...
Any ideas how I can get back to English and get everything working again?.. I don’t want to order the Spanish disc just so I can insert it in order to reselect English... plus I don't have the time for that...
This seems to be a pretty terrible flaw by ford… people make mistakes (or have friends do stupid things) … how is there no cancel option?
So yea, any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance.
- my last resort option is to disconnect the battery... but I’d rather not reset everything if possible...
... plus, I'm not even sure if that is a sure fix ...

...but no matter what button I pressed (MENU Hard - NAV Hard - etc...) none of them did anything - I even tried the Press and Hold concept, still nothing.
All I had was the 'Open' option on the screen to open and close the screen to remove and insert the disc... It really made no sense how every button and option was cut off unless I inserted the spanish disc.
Anyways, I pressed every hard and touchscreen button available to me at the time, and nothing worked at all. So I ended up disconnecting my battery for a bit, and then once I reconnected the nav started to reboot... in spanish of course ... but lucky this time it gave me the language options... so it's all over and done with.
Thanks again Bucko.
oh and to SAWMAN556... with your post, you remind me of my friend who got me into this mess in the first place...
lol
By the way, to download your own free PDF version of Ford owners manuals (including a factory NAV guide), go here:

Start with 2007, as I think this was the first year Ford put them into an F150...in any event, this year (2007) is when I found a PDF listed to download, and I think I found it under a different model (I.E. Explorer, Expedition, etc).
