Default Head Unit

Hey guys, got a quick head unit question. I saw a while ago somebody had a unit where they could run an ipod into the glove box and could control it from the unit, does anyone know about this? I would like to do something like that to keep my interior clean and cord free.

It most likely is done with an aftermarket integration kit. There are many companies making these, a few are Scosche, DICE, PIE.

Something like this is what you are looking for I believe:
Amazon.com: P.I.E. FRD04-POD/S iPod® Adapter Control your iPod with select Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury factory stereos: Car Electronics Amazon.com: P.I.E. FRD04-POD/S iPod® Adapter Control your iPod with select Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury factory stereos: Car Electronics

Like I said, there are other manufacturers, but just have a look around and you should find some!

I feel like that could be it, but I remember something about a USB or Aux port on the back of the head unit and he ran it through his dash. Is there such a thing?

If the Pioneer is what you want, save your money and get what you want and avoid regret.

The PIE adapter that OldYeller posted a link to is the correct one. Use that paired with these cables for a dash mount for the setup you're looking for: http://www.oemautosound.com/p-663-da...is335-pac.aspx

That way you can keep your OEM head unit and still be able to plug in an iPod or phone.

My Alpine does that. Most aftermarket head units will do that for you. I just installed an Alpine with bluetooth, IPOD control, XM radio, and navigation. I also used the little converter box so I kept my steering wheel controls.
