I have a K&N aircharger kit on my 07 f150, is it possible to still do the GOTTS mod? Worth it? Advantages?

Is your engine the 4.6L or the 5.4L? I thought the GOTT's mod was predominantly for the 4.6L.

it is because of where the filter is and how its housed on the 4.6 but it can still be done on the 5.4, more pipe is use though....

the gotts mod is used only when you are using the stock piping. it is used to enlarge the intke piping where it goes through the fender well. so, if you have a complete air intake (FIPK), then it doesnt even apply, since the intake kit has its own filter within the engine bay, and air is not restricted to it.

Yea X2! thats the same gotts mod I know, I don't know what the heck the others are referring too, but it sure sounds more like full air intake and not a gotts mod to me.

Also The original gotts mod is for the 5.4's and 98% of people who had done it have the 5.4. All it consists of is putting a bigger tube to open the restriction at the fender, thats it!

as i mentioned above, this mod only applies to trucks that are using the stock intake piping. if you have a complete CAI, then you should just have a filter sitting somewhere inside the engine bay, and doesnt pull air through the fender well.

now, if you have a "drop in filter" in the stock housing and piping, then yes you can perform this mod.

i personally didnt like the mod. i tried it on my 06 with the 5.4, and noticed no improvements. however, i did notice some noise with the throttle between 1600-1800 rpm's. my guess is turbulance, since i went back to stock piping the noise instantly went away.
