Default Gearing

Anyone ever run 4.56's on 33's? I'm have 33 inch duratrac's now and will need tires in the next 4-5months. But the rearend howls on accel and sounds like its getting louder. I'll be installing the rancho quick lift soon and plan to run 35 inch super swampers for hunting season and dd on a 295/70/18 nitto terra grapplers..... So knowing my future mods and that i actually use my truck to tow, hunt, camp, play, ect. And knowing the rear needs a rebuild.... I'm thinking about re-gearing sooner then later. Thoughts?

I wouldnt, Id get my gears first so you got that knocked out. Nothing worse than having a lift and tires and suckin when your out in the field. Get the gears, compare them with the tires and stuff you have, then upgrade as necessary.

a CAI doesn't really give these trucks much power to be honest. At least nothing I would be willing to spend the money on and say I am happy. Gotts mod is cheaper and just as, if not more effective.

I would do the gears for sure. Depending how deep you want to get, long tubes will wake up the truck. I am still debating between 4.10's and 4.56's on 33" tires.

Yea, i'm still debating on what CAI i want.what CAI makes the most power and keeps down heat soak. Looking to pair it with a BBK 80mm TB (only one i've found) at some point i want to do longtubes, cams, and a 2.3 whipple.

I'd leave the TB alone until there is a need to upgrade it. Until you get some crazy boost with the whipple (which won't happen on a stock motor), there is no need to touch the TB.

Not trying to be a party pooper but a lot of these bolt on mods are not worth the money on a stock motor lol.

Yea i know the mustang stuff pretty well..... Still learning where the restrictons are at in the truck engines. Anyone know the rpm range of the stock intake manifold? I upped the rev limit on my truck from the stock 5050 up to 5550.
