Default Gauge Cluster

I’ve been noticing an interesting sound coming from behind my gauge cluster and finally my speedometer quick working/got stuck. It initially stopped at 60MPH and wouldn’t go below that. So basically 60=10MPH, 70=20, 80=30 and so on. Anyone know what the cause may be?

The stepper motor that drives the needle likely failed. If you’re good with circuit boards and soldering, you can replace yourself.

Otherwise, anew cluster may be easier. If you go that route, there are certain ones that’ll work and certain ones that won’t.

It seems like if that were the case it wouldn’t work at all though. The needle is moving as I drive but 60 is acting as 10, 70 as 20 and so on.. Super strange!

I dont remember how but I think there is a way to make the gauges recalibrate. That might work?

Thanks, I'll try researching that! It almost sounds like there is a mouse behind my gauge cluster when it's quiet enough in the truck. I just bought the truck on the 7th of November and the dealership I bought it from said they would cover whatever is causing the noise. At this point I'm really hoping the two things are related... I'm going to schedule an appointment today for sometime this week. I'll keep the forum posted in case anyone else is having this issue.

Sorry I read t wrong. I thought it was stuck at 60.

Yes, you can recalibrate. Worse case, you can pry up the needle and place it in the right spot if that doesn’t work.

I wish I knew how to upload videos from my phone for better understanding. I think everyone gets the point though. I just scheduled my appointment with the stealership for tomorrow morning. Luckily the lot I purchased the truck from is covering the repair!
