Default fuel pump driver module

posted on this pasted Sunday about my 2006 f150 shuddering / skipping on the way to Sams Club - parked it about 1 hour and drove home - ran like a new truck - no problems- was told to look at the FPDM - pulled it down today and inspected it - a little corrosion on the back of it but no cracks or holes - before it drop $100 are they anything else I need to be looking at.

Could be fuel filter, don't know how to check but you can do some sea foam in the gas tank an see how it runs

Check the fpdm for the corrosion we have all read about. My best guess is that if it were the fuel filter that was the cause, it shouldn't be intermittent. Changing the filter won't hurt at all, but do check out the fpdm.

My module looked like a little corrosion too and when I scraped on it a little this is what happened. Save yourself from being stuck on the side of the road and replace both.

Drop your spare tire and and it's on top of the crossmember. I shot a cost of primer and flat black paint on the cross member and the bottom side of the module to try to keep it from happening again. The "new" design from the dealership was just different mounts. Instead of mounting directly to the crossmember it has studs that go in and set it about 1/4 inch away.

Mine was shuttering too when I'd give it some extra throttle and then it eventually died one day. My programmer has the trouble code reader on it and it showed up on there that the driver module was offline before it actually finally crapped out on me and there was no check engine light. So see if a scanner shows anything. Might be surprised.
