Front Ride Height Question
I've had my '05 F-150 (XLT 4WD SCAB w/ tow package) for a few months now. The previous owner had just installed new loaded front struts prior to the sale. After looking at other stock F-150's, it seems to me that I have more front-to-rear rake. Can someone with stock suspension and 265-70-17's measure from the top of their tire to the fender well lip? I get just about 6-1/4". Just wondering if these are the correct strut assemblies or if 2WD struts were used. I would like it a little higher, but don't want to install a 2.5" level kit. Thanks in advance...
You are saying it still sits higher in the rear, right? I would consider leaving it that way unless you have trouble clearing the tires you want to use in the future. The way I double check mine is to park on level pavement, measure from the ground at the center of the tire to the center of the wheel arch. (I like to have it still >.5" higher in the rear) My truck already had a leveling kit when I got it, it actually sat higher in the front than back, I used the readylift blocks to bring the rear up 1"+ and it still appears just barely level. Kind of annoying but usually it looks fine.
We manufacture/carry/sell an Adjustable height Coilover that provides 0-3" of lift so you can get your truck just where you want it. Eibach 700 lb/in spring ensures lift and no sag. They are Lifetime Warrantied. www.F150Lifts.com Let me know if you would like more info. PM or Email or call.

Ok, so it look likes I'm running a 3"(+ish) difference front to rear. I think I'll beat these new loaded struts through the winter and replace them in the spring. Until them, I might pick up a set of 1" lift blocks off Amazon, made by Daystar:
I agree 100% with that philosophy. I just wanted to save some coin right now. Plus, the roads around here are absolutely horrendous in the winter, so I figured I'd beat these 'new' stuts up a little before just tossing them.
