Angry front brake issues

My 2006 fx4 had both front brakes lock up on it the other day. I jacked up the front end both sides were locked enough where they would not free wheel. After it sets for a while they will release. I have not put a abs scanner on it but I do have one available. Just wondered if anyone else has fought this before I dive in.

I have had this happend with my 06. I had to replace both front calipers. Check your break fluid. If it is black I would recommend a power flush.

Motorcraft brake pads suck!!! Dealer put some on 1 month ago and they squeak all the time. I just removed and put on O'Reilly ceramic top of the line (which is still cheaper than dealer) and they work great...

Also check the caliper mount slides. If they are not properly lubricated they will stick and lock up.

The calipers (if OEM) have ceramic pucks.

They crack.

When they crack, they don't function properly. Did you recently change pads?

I ran a scanner on it and there was a abs module code. Hopefully that was the problem, have not had any trouble with it since the first time it happened
