Default FPDM or Fuel Pump????

okay, my 05/4.6L started "jumping"while driving to work a couple weeks ago, drove home absolutely fine. Yesterday I hit a decent sized puddle of water, which splashed everywhere, about a mile later started "jumping" again, this lasted for about 5 or 6 miles then quit again. After work it started fine went to the bank and it started again, then stalled and refused to start for about ten minutes. When it started I let it idle for awhile. Then got about two miles down the road before it quit again and refused to start. Wife picked me up, I go to get it and it starts, ahhhh, so drive it up onto the trailer bring it home let it idle in the driveway for 1/2 hour or so...try drive and it spits and sputters again I've been checking around and seems like these FPDM's dont like too much abuse, especially after 100,000 miles

The FPDM is easy. Drop your spare tire and take a look. If it is corroded or cracked, replace it. Amazon has them for ~$60. Much easier for the FPDM than the fuel pump. What about your fuel filter? Been replaced? Just another possibility.

Try fuel pump module first. Thats what it sounds like to me. A lot cheaper to start their and you probably could use a new one.

I would think it was the FPDM because of the water splashing into it. I would change it out even if looks ok just to try it. Its only $60 on Amazon.
