FP driver module P/N compatibility

FP driver module P/N compatibility
Hi all. I have a 2007 F150 5.4 FX4. My truck died today while driving on the freeway. Pulled over and it is a crank no start or it does start and barely runs. I looked at the DTCs and got P1233 and P0191(x2) the latter a result of the first no doubt. So I'm pretty sure the diagnosis is a faulty Fuel Pump Driver Module. I know this is commonly an issue with severe corrosion and mine is pretty crusty but not cracked. Maybe the seal has failed. The connector contacts look good. Anyhow here is my question. I want to confirm this is the problem before spending the money on a replacement. Not a fan of trial and error diagnosis. I have a not in use 06 F350 with the same engine. I want to take the (presumably good) FPDM off the F350 and try it on the F150. If it solves the problem, great, if not back to the drawing board. The FoMoCo part numbers are different but the parts look identical other than the mounting option is different. One is bolt through the other has studs staked on. I take the two numbers and they both cross to the same Dorman number of 590-001. The suspected failed unit Ford P/N is 5L8A-9D370-AA and the hopefully good P/N is 6C2A-9D372-AA. Is it safe to install the "good" one to test or do I need to be concerned about some other critical difference like coding or circuitry. Any other considerations? Thanks for any help here.

If they both cross ref to the same dorman # you should be safe.

Whats the point
If its not bad it will be . The dorman part is not that costly . It will drive you crazy when it starts acting up and will strand you time and again. It almost caused me to have accident several times.

FPDM is kind of tough to diagnose due to the fact that it has caused some wacky, funny acting trucks. You seem to have a lot of the common symptoms for a bad FDPM. If it's suspicious I suggest you change it because as was stated before it will leave you stranded some day.

good conclusion
But you realize we wouldn't suggest using used parts . This fpdm is a hard thing to diagnose plus its liable to be corroded itself used .
i was going through a very busy intersection when mine quit one time and was almost t boned .
Make sure you put it on standoffs to slow the corrosion .
Anyway glad shes going .
