Default Fog lights

Hey guys. I was wondering, if I were to purchase and install an aftermarket bumper that took the place of the oem bumper and the trim above the bumper would I be able to use the existing wiring for the fog lights to run one of those fancy light bars?

Just wondering. Thanks in advance for the input.

Would I have to do anything special or just plug and play? Thanks for the quick response by the way.

I'm sure you'll have to splice them in, but that's a good idea.

That's exactly what I plan on doing minus the aftermarket bumper. I replaced my original chrome bumper with fogs with a ptm factory bumper without fogs. As soon as I figure out exactly which 30" light I want
Then I have to figure out how to wire it. For example, can I just use 1 side positive and negative or do I have to use the positive of 1 and negative of the other?

That's a good question too.

I wonder if you could run it parallel with both sets of wires.

That's what I'm thinking but I'm gonna ask a 12 volt specialist. I don't want to screw up the factory switch.

I don't see why you couldnt just run it off of on plug, at some point the plugs from each fog light run back together into the harness before getting to the fuse box, which is why there is not a right side left side fuse for either. I'd just run it off of one then cap the other to prevent shorting from water

Just to give you an idea of what you can do...
Here is my aftermarket bumer, the 6.5in off road lights and the 4in lights are wired into plugs and the 5in lights in the bumper towards the center are wired into my factory fog light harness, I just cut the factory plug off and spliced these in.

As far as using a LED bar you should be able to do as BRNR17 said and just splice it into one of the plugs and cap the other off.
