Default Flex Fuel

So i am considering converting my truck to run on E85 because the reason it is a lot cheaper around here and my dad company can refund him some because he works for the largest ethanol refinery company. well im not sure about it but im going to try and get some money from it.

But my question is what company is the best to get a conversion kit from and what are they costing?
Truck= 2006 FX4 5.4L

If you Google E-85 Conversion Kits, several of them come up. Looks like they are in the $350 to $400 range.

From my experience, unless you are getting E-85 real cheap, it won't be worth the loss of power and mileage.

Malas15...have you checked your VIN to see if your truck is already setup for E85?

Check the 8th character and if it's 'V' you're already flex fuel ready. If it's '5' you have the standard gas only engine. W & 8 are for the 4.6L.

It will take you 25 tank fills @ 30gal per tank to break even for the conversion and then you will get worse MPG after that....

Bit for $.60 more im fine with less mpg. Also e85 gets done to $2.29 around here at times. Id say $2.79 is the highest its got in a long time

Fuel flex international is the brand I have in my truck. It is very simple installation just unplugging your fuel injector plugs and plugging in the male and females into all 8 parts of the harness (1 per cylinder) my kit was 500 original. He knocked 100 off because I work on the industry and the plant payed for half of it. Took me 30 min to install with my big gorilla hands. 87 octane is 3.25 right now e85 is 2.45.
Our plant is working on installing a public pump and selling it for around 1.89 a gallon. The kits are stackable meaning you can add an edge programmer to the kit with no problems. Have your dad order it though and he should get the discount if you talk to the owner. I went from 12 mpg to 10 with a level after installing the kit. No other problems other than missing race season because of the smell(-: just change your fuel filter after 200 miles. 208-288-0320 Alex conger

I checked there website and they only have up to 6 cylinders. And you mean you have to change the fuel filter every 200 miles or jist after the first 200 miles
