Fixing all the rust.

Ive has great results using this:
I spray about half a can up in that upper wheel well opening every fall. You can also access that area in front of the wheel too. It’s open on both sides.
This stuff actually sticks and stays in place where as Fluid Film just washes right off.
I also coat the rockers, inner door and tailgate lip, inner front fenders, basically any spot that’s prone to rust.

Just needs a good wash now. Having a new lid cover lock installed due to corrosion there too.
Total cost: $ 4000
What was done:
1. Cab corners replaced with metal
2. Bed wheel well arches, cut out and replaced with metal
3. End gate cleared of rust, and redone with new badges.
4.Both rockers fixed with metal patches after grinding out all rusted areas - epoxy primed and undercoated.
5. Snowplow mount removed, sandblasted, epoxy primed and painted a satin black
6. Rear bed edge between endgate and bumper, sanded, epoxy primed, painted black.
7. Front bumper below lights and above steel bumper repainted and clear coated from losing clear from trying to get bugs off with powerwasher (oops)
8. Undercoated the bottom of the cab.
I think it went well. Price was fair. I am happy with it. Truck looks new.
I like the look without the FX4 stickers. It just looks cleaner.

You just need to paint or replace those faded fender flares to match the fresh look of the rest of the truck.

The flares around the wheels are all new. The picture just shows them covered in buffing dust.at the shop. I was really impressed. I found over the years when I wanted to fix rust, most shops won't touch it. This shop did three of my rusted out front window frames on some E-350's I have that the glass shop refused to put new glass in. He made new everything adding all new metal. Those trucks looked like new. i figured I had nothing to lose trying. If you have this generation of truck, and you don't see rust yet, I would get on the back side of these problem areas and rust proof the crap out of it before it gets going too far. Another year in the salt mine would have probably passed the point of no return where you just drive it and don't care anymore what it looks like. It seems like every truck up here in this generation has the rust in the same areas I did. I can't help looking at every one now as they pass by.
