Question First mods?

Hey all,

I've got a 2008 F-150 XL. Everything is factory stock on it. I love Ford trucks and while I'm happy with my truck it's kind of, well, bland. I'm definately looking at replacing the stock rims and tires soon. But I'm wondering what are the popular mods to a base truck like this? What did you change out first on your truck?

I'd do power locks and windows, then a CD player if yours just has AM/FM. Maybe some PTM work on the bumpers.

Thanks for the reply! I wasn't aware you could mod from regular manual factory locks and windows to power locks. I'm guessing there's a conversion kit for that? Now you've got me excited!

Check out a1electric.com for the power lock kit, while your there check out their switch kits for power windows (don't get the window motor kits there though, the universal types suck). Get a Ford style window regulator/motor combo either from your dealer, tascaparts.com, or rockauto.com and wire it up using an a universal switch kit.

I did it to my old silverado but I haven't personally done an f150. Ford4wd08 has the parts on order now, and I believe blackbetty did it in his mod thread that is stickied in this forum.

The very first thing I put on was a nautilus air horn. Pretty cheap on ebay, and easy to install. It gives the horn some extra umph, and everybody tells me it sounds like a semi, so it's a pretty cool, inexpensive mod. Next was the exhaust, if it sounds mean, it stands out. And from then on, you just start spending more and more money.

Can you tell me what is the CAI? I'm new here and still trying to get down all of the acronyms.

Cold Air Intake

Look up the Gotts or DWV mod before buying one.
