I was going down the highway about 70, when my truck was like it was shifted into neutral. I turned off the overdrive and now it only runs in first and second gear no third. If I drive in overdrive when it goes to third it will try to shift into third but goes back like it is in neutral. Whats up?

 

Sounds like you lost your overdrive band or there's a stuck valve. I'm not much for transmissions so maybe someone a little more experienced can chime in...

Also, what's your fluid look/smell like and the most obvious, is it full?

 

year, make,model? ever been serviced?

 

Have you even checked the fluid level ?

 

Miles?
Trans fluid level?
Ever been Serviced?
Fluid Condition?
