So I have heard that its possible to fit a 250 Superduty tailgate onto an 04-08 F150... my main thing is to get a tailgate step... so im hunting on Craigslist and salvage yards for one.. i havent found any F150 Tailgates with a step but have found numerous 250 tailgates. if anyone has any insight on thie conversion please please please let me know.

I dunno if this is true or not. The F250 beds are slightly bigger than the 150's. I could be wrong but I'd think they're a different size bed. Might sound stupid, but do you know anybody with the style F250 tailgate you're looking for? You can ask them to let you try test fitting it on your truck before you buy one and find out it doesn't work.

 

ive seen f150 with tailgates that say superduty... they look to be the same size

I'm curious now lol. I always thought the F250's bed was a little bigger. Only reason I say that is cause my old tool box fit in a 250 but not in my 150, the bed rails taper towards the cab...dumb..

 

A lot of the 97 - 03 trucks have superduty tailgates on them but I haven't seen it on an 04-08 yet.

 

I don't know about the size difference but there is a guy here at my work who has a 250 super duty with a f150 tailgate on it and it looks to fit just right

They are interchangeable on the 97-03 F-150's but Im almost 100% sure they arent on the 04+
