The guy you talked to is a dope.

I could take one of your keys. Go to a locksmith. Have him cut a key. Stick the keys into the box and have it copy it (just like copying a PCM, ROM, ECM, etc) straight over to the other key. Stick the other key in the truck and it will think it's the original.

The ability to clone transponder keys is as old as transponder keys.
