If they plugged a programmer into your ODBII after making the key and putting it in your ignition, you have an original (usually, especially because of the half hour bit, it takes about ten-fifteen minutes to program a new one)
They plugged it in and had to start the truck several times. I have a custom exhaust and could hear when they started it every time from the waiting area.

Yea, no idea why they would do that unless they were making sure it would start because of a worn ignition switch (which sucks when it's a newly cut key because the key is so sharp and the ignition switch is so rounded).

But a clone key is quick and easy. A programmed key requires time.

So this is how they do it and why it takes so long:

For $80 you should have a new original, not a cloned key.

I am pretty sure it is an original. They had to plug the machine into the OBD II port. And they had fresh baked cookies and coffee in the waiting area!

Can't beat the cookies and coffee. Something to consider now is to buy a 3rd key off of Amazon or ebay - you can get them for $20. A lot of Home Depot's will cut the key for free - and then you can program it yourself and still have 2 originals should you ever lose one.

Just talked to the Ford dealer that made my key and they have never heard of a cloned key. He told me if I have two keys that work I can program a third. I think we need an answer from one of the Ford professionals on here.
