Default Correct COP part #

Hey guys got a 05 F150, plugs were done about 3 yrs ago before I bought it, but COPs werent. Truck has the little miss when getting on the throttle and its almost at 108k so I'm gonna change out the COPs. Just wondering I see there is brown and black, but read they are for the different heads. Does anyone for sure no the part# I need? Again 05 F150 5.4. Thanks

There's only one kind for the 05; the heads weren't redesigned until 2007. Part number depends on brand. Personally I used a $40 set of Chinese coils off Amazon and they've worked for years.

COP's are all black... the boots are a different color...ie brown=new heads and Black=old heads

Ok I understand that. Is there a brand guys have been using that always get good results? I call local dealer and they want $85/per cop. I found these on amazon, I figure they are junk but they get good reviews so I'm curious.

Amazon.com: Ignition Coil Complete Set of 8 w/ LIFETIME WARRANTY for Ford Lincoln Mercury 4.6L 5.4L 6.8L Compatible with DG511: Automotive Amazon.com: Ignition Coil Complete Set of 8 w/ LIFETIME WARRANTY for Ford Lincoln Mercury 4.6L 5.4L 6.8L Compatible with DG511: Automotive

I actually just used that pack on an Explorer with the 5.4L like two weeks ago. They're working fine. Either that pack or a similar one... just go by the reviews and it'll probably work. And keep the old ones in case one of the new ones is a dud.

Thanks LaMartian. Yeah lifetime warranty but usually I get oem stuff, but for less than $50 I may give it a shot.
