Thumbs up Engine orange light on

Hello guys, anybody can help me please in solving the problem how switch off the engine light because my mechanics is not able to solve...
The light on the left in the picture is always on ( orange colour) after have refill the thank untill the edge almost one month ago. From that time it swithched on and never back to off. Plugging the computer and checking with the software what was the possible failure it shows us the 'Vapor Canister Purge Valve ', so the mechanics after some check on it suggested me to order a new one.
Following his suggestion i order a new Purge Valve on Rock Auto web site but after installed on the car the error still appear and the software shows always the same failure.
Do you have any experience on this problem? Never appened you before?
I think that is something connected to the gas thank but i don't know where to check! Thanks in advance man, i appreciated your help!

Well you could have a number of things wrong yet. That light doesn't tell you exactly what's wrong. Only tells you this system that is not functioning correctly.

You could have a wiring issue, a clogged/restricted evap line, a broken evap line or even a dud purge valve. Did you put on a motorcraft purge valve or not? Fords do NOT like aftermarket anything sensor wise

Maybe a faulty fuel cap? Not sure if it's related but something cheap and easy to replace.

Thanks guys for your replay.
I order a new original Motorcraft Purge Valve even if sent by Airtex.
I don't know what to check more... I should go under the truck and try to see if there is some broken or damaged wire/hose?

What Eagle said. Could be a bad fuel cap.

So did you clear the code or unhook the battery for 30 minutes then hook the battery back up after replacing the valve?

Another question: when you fill up the tank at a gas station, do you stop when the fuel handle "clicks" the first time (should be), or do you continue to "top off" the tank? If you continue to "top off", you are causing raw gas to slosh into the charcoal canister, which is why you got the code. This canister is supposed to capture the gas fumes from the tank, and routes them to the engine to be burned off. By overfilling the tank, gas will slosh up the filler neck, and into this charcoal canister, eventually destroying it, and setting a code.

If you have not cleared the code, do as Summers22 suggests. See if the code clears. If not, then there may be a hose from the charcoal canister that was just replaced damaged (maybe during the replacement). Take it back to who did the repair work.

Great advice Bucko. NEVER top of your tank, something I have taught my wife and kids that drive. Causes more harm than not.
