so after many hours and many cuss words i finished spray painting my emblems they came out blah i have some bad spots and the paint didnt want to stick to the chrome just wanted to ask what did you use to stick them back on i was gonna use 3m double sided tape but will that realy hold in all weather. thnx

As long as you prepared the surface pefore applying the 3M tape, it will hold just fine. I always wipe down both mating surfaces with an alcohol pad to remove any wax or oil on the surfaces.

I do the same for surfaces before I paint them as well. Did you end up with "fish eye" blotches with your painted emblems?

thats exactly what happened fish eye blothches..i really dont want to put them back on the truck but i hate the holls that r left and i dont want to pay for new emblems so i just gotta deal with it thnx for the quike reply

Remove the paint; clean real good with some prep cleaner (can buy it in a spray can next to all the spray paints within a good auto parts store) or use alcohol pads that you can get at Home depot.

Prevents the fish eye's.

agreed on wiping it down real good, i had a side scoop "peel off" on my mustang cuz they body shop didnt clean the surface enough to hold it on there with wind blowing into it

well i jut left them the way they were they look great from afar just close up is when u see it oh well... i stuck them on the truck today i rubbed evrything with alcohol and used 3m tape so hope it holds i will get some pics up as soon as i can thnx

Ya that 3M tape holds great even after going through rain, u can see my emblems in my album, I love the way they turned out

I have to redo mine. The emblem on the grill took a few bugs and then the pressure washer peeled th paint in a few spots. My passanger side emblem has been painte twice already and needs it again. It was prepped the same and used the same paint but seems to like to peel in the samn spot. Pics on the truck?

you can get decals to go over em.i got mine from patriotdecals.com and they're awesome i've had em for about 4 or 5 months and they're still holding up fine.
