Default Edge Evolution question

I've had an Edge Evolution on my 04 4.6 F150 since I bought it used over 4 years ago. The last week or so I noticed the screen is very dim. I'm worried if the screen goes out and the Edge craps out how I'll be able to return my stock tune to my truck. I'm guessing I could go to Ford and ask to re-flash my truck but that's likely to cost just as much as a new tuner.

Anyone else had this issue with their Edge? I'm thinking of uninstalling it in my truck for now since I don't want to be stuck if it craps out on me.

I would return to stock and see what's up with the Edge.. that unit holds your stock tune but, even if the Edge takes a dump on you the tune you have loaded will still be in your ECM. you do not need the Edge plugged into the OBII port to hold your tune.

Ah thank you for clarifying that. That makes perfect sense, I don't know why I thought otherwise.
I've seen it dim when it was extremely hot or cold but by the time I had driven 10 minutes its back to normal. It's staying dimmer than usual for the entire time I drive my truck. I did replace my battery a few weeks ago but this issue has only been happening the last few times I've driven it that I can tell so I don't think it would be related to the battery in any way.

Mine dims when it gets hot also.. it sits in the direct sun on top of the dash ... gets 120 degrees in that cab.. It's probably fine.

I know about it dimming when it gets warm. It is dim all the time now and the temps have been in the low 50s here at night so that's not the issue here.
As long as it works its not a huge deal but I think I'll take it out of commission this weekend for the time being. My truck doesn't get a lot of road time right now but will once the weather turns colder.

Can you go into the settings and adjust the contrast?
