Default Edge Evolution FUBARED

My truck came with an Edge Evolution tuner, and I'd been running it on level 2 with no issues; it ran awesome. Last week, I'd pulled the PCM to check the coils on the passenger side... afterward, truck was throwing the P2106 or 2107 (IIRC) throttle actuator module code. Reset truck to stock, short drive, re-uploaded the level 2 tune, ran great for 300 miles, then the code and limp mode again (200 miles from home, too, but only after I tried a slightly "custom" level 2 tune to adjust the speedometer). After several resets to stock, every time I try either the level 1 or 2 tune, it throws the code and goes into reduced power mode, so I'm staying in stock mode before I FUBAR the PCM. The extra giddyup was nice, but mostly I prefered the firmer shifts of least level 1. At least I can now go back to 87, rather than 89. Stock is fine.

I've never had or used a tuner until this truck, so I'm curious if this is fairly common for these things? Even with no tune, I want to keep it in the truck, as it is convenient to 1) read/clear codes and 2) see digital RPM, ECT, TFT and average MPG (-ish).

Where you getting the meaning of P1000 DTC ? all this means is the drive cycle is not complete, which is what you will get after you load a new program.. I suspect you have another problem and its not the Edge.

Sorry P1000 was at the forefront of my mind, as that is the code it currently has (due to returning to stock tune and not completing the required drive cycles). Disregard that code, I edited the original post. I'm not worried about that one.

I forget specifically the code number (P2107? 2106?) but it specifically refers to the throttle actuator control and sends the truck into reduced power, and it is directly linked to the Edge.

Pull the Throttle body off the intake and clean it real good with Throttle body cleaner.. dis-connect battery while doing this. Use proper cleaner... CRC throttle body cleaner. Re-install/re-connect battery … do TB re-lean AKA Diamond bird mod. If that don't work.. you may need a new TB.. TPS is not replaceable.

I replaced mine last year. It's held on by two little screws (unless it's a year/engine thing)

TB works perfectly fine in stock tune (it's also clean, with any capacitors having been drained of power using a jumper wire). No issues, no codes, no reduced power.

It's the Edge; I'm just curious if it is commonplace for the Edge to screw up the PCM.

I had a similar problem with my custom tune. I don't remember the codes exactly, but it would send it into limp mode. I would reach out to Power hungry Performance. Maybe they can guide you.
Recently, I went untuned and just use it to track data. Driving my truck gently now, considering it's about to reach 1/4 mil lol

Thanks, Scorge, that's the feedback I was looking for. Great mileage, btw.

A call to the manufacturer is my next step.
